Last night I went to an artist event at MOCA — Mister Lonnie Holley said “we didn’t practice this. They say a lot practice makes perfect. But we just jumped in—“ & what if art is its own divine perfection?

In many conversations I wonder many times what is art and what is brilliance and what measurements of these things are spiritual downloads.
Perhaps it is all and none and something in between. There are beings that feel otherworldly because they are.
to experience synergy without practice to ME is that their is a mastery of listening and being guided. A mastery of faith and knowing that not everyone is privy too. The outside knows has a volume so low that all is left is the ringing of the ear, the frequencies all around that need picking up.
many people told Lonnie Haley — he’d never be able to (sing) and so he self taught himself piano and multiple mediums — to me it was a remembering on his behalf.
Someone who grew in slavery & experienced a brutal life — composes visual pathways and auditory radio waves in music that is ember performed twice. I wanna know all his Aquarius and Gemini placements.

he towers over many people in height but the spirit he carries is also it’s own stage, it’s own amplification, it own display among what many will see in the art that is a bared soul.
There is so much to see & experience. It found me in a place where recalibration and feeling find me in the middle.
How open must we be to create because it is compulsive, a need, it resides so deeply that there is no other option? Because we hear what needs to be offered and have to somehow bring it to tangibility.
How much of it gets lost when trying to perfect it? How much never comes to light because it nene be needed perfecting & we strangled the magic out of it? Now it’s two lost messages on a page. Yours and that of spirit.

It’s amazing that these were made with leftover material waste and how some of these are in conversation with art found in Tibes the Taino historic site in Puerto Rico. They are so similar. Indigenous peoples.

There is also something mystical about having mediums that opened to your own will. The keys speaking in a language you create, sculptures, wires crossed into a message that people feel, see, and can be in awe or utter confusion.
Sometimes we need something different because it can be fully in that way. Language for Black folks especially goes beyond words. We have languages within is that can only be felt, remembered, displayed in a space where others simply—get it.
