Waterfalls

Today, in a conversation, I told a friend as a reminder

We are Waterfalls not Wells

To imply, we are, Wells means that we are alone, dug down for consumption, isolated for use and yes, although there are aquifer and things that pour into this while Wells can also run dry. Which is people based on individualism and a lack of community care we become Wells, however people are meant to be waterfalls. We are meant to pour and be poured into. We are meant for a we are ecosystems that need and require and give.

Community is a natural organic occurrence that has been taken from many of us through the violence of colonialism capitalism, and all of the isms that come from historical oppression. This is why so many of us struggle with this thing we call life because it isn’t meant to be done Alone. Nothing is there is no meal, no art no aspect truly of living that is meant to be done alone even in the structures where individualism is meant to be celebrated there is still a team. There is still a support somewhere there is still someone who had to teach us to do the thing, even if it’s through social media or pass down recipes and knowledge.

Most waterfalls that we know of have never gone dry unless someone has tempered with the water flow. Maybe remember this metaphor for our lives, and how we deal with the joys and the difficulties.

Add an astrological context to this think about and maybe some of you don’t know, but we have every single zodiac sign in our individual charts which further need for others to support where we are strong and where we may be new to the experience. Even the stars are part of the community of understanding, the self, and relating to others.
