Creativity is a lifeline that systemic oppression and capitalism and white supremacy tries to snuff out of us until it is lucrative. My bestie sent me a video today where Chinese slippers are now $79.
We’ve seen the fashion houses do it. Rip culture’s creativity ESPECIALLY BLACK creativity —don’t even rebrand it or anything just slap a brand on it and resold it to the unimaginative.
Fun is where the magic happens. Awe. Excitement. Something lightens in our chest and that is where magic happens.
sometimes we stumble into our creativity
be it that a light bulb goes off in the brain
it asks us to be present even as we escape
creativity lives beyond us energetically
when you don’t tap in to all the magical
nuances of yourself
it means your obligations, the voices of criticism never yours to begin with has won.
