The Altar of Creativity

Being creative often is a spiritual endeavor especially if you allow yourself to be led.

You bring more to the altar of the page than you think. Last year I did three community workshops on some of the ways we can express the tools but I wish to go steps back and further on this.

I use poetry, workshops and readings as my main channel. However what calls to us can change and how we answer to it can be several pivots.

A lot of what we are told removes the energy and frequency of it all. But what if listening to what is not said is where the magic is.

Silence is often assigned meaning —what if this time we become the silence until the surrender we seek finds us?

The biggest parts of the offering in creating is ourselves. Our becoming, our acceptance of being, and our alchemizing who we once were.

Words are a way to conjure possibility and the intention is the what and the how. As someone who focuses on AfroCaribbean futurism or perhaps more directly Liberfuturismo. What does it look like to liberate yourself in this timeline?

It may seem out there for some but if we truly held ourselves in our power and accountable for the things we can change — I personally wonder how far I will go? Why not fuck around and find out?

I invite you to my most recent episode and the previous post of creativity as a lifeline but take it further to all the variations of you. If you want to even go further I guess you can think your self a Doctor Strange type situation.

Our words and intentions —the things built with our wholeheartedness leads us to roads we didn’t even know existed. If we truly pay attention our elders showed us that. They created blueprints but will we unlock them within? Beyond reading the words how do we embody our practices.

I asked this to myself and am going to embark on this journey as well. See who I become along the way. I’ve bet on myself before but not like this. Sometimes becoming a capital C creative from a family that mostly worked for others. My father handed his creative genes my way and I’ve taken them and ran more so sprinted but it led me to burnout when having to figure out how to do this full time in a system where poetry is often times undervalued. But I also did a myriad of things that charged me up.

How to go deeper but not at the expense of me but at the expanse? I’ll find myself at the Altar of Creativity.

What is it truly to translate freedom?
